Welcome to Getafiesta and the Sundance Film Festival!

If this is the first time you’re visiting us, welcome! You’ve stumbled on Getafiesta, the web’s newest festival portal, dedicated to bridging the gap between festival-goers and the events they’re clamoring to attend. We’re your roadmap to festivals in your backyard and around the world, whether you’re interested in music, film, food and wine, art, and more.

It might seem odd to launch a festival information portal in the middle of a global pandemic, but the truth is, there’s never been a better time! Festivals everywhere are juggling their schedules while making COVID accommodations and they’re desperate to get updates out to the public. It’s a tough time, so we’re filling the void, helping to ensure that attendees can find current information on all their favorite events, all in one place.

You’ll find the scoop you expect — schedules, ticket information, accommodations, and local attractions — and so much more. Our research takes you inside the event for a sneak peek of what you can expect. And where our analysis leaves off, your fellow users take over.

We’re building a vibrant social platform that connects you with other jet-setting festival-goers. You’ll have access to this blog, an exciting user forum, social media, and a newsletter to keep you up to date. Get inside tips from well-traveled globetrotters, swap festival stories with like-minded enthusiasts, and learn about new events in time to get your tickets and get yourself there!

Of course, this year is very different from standard festival seasons. Many of our favorite festivals are opting to go virtual or offer online access for attendees that can’t make it in person. We’ll make sure you know where and when you can catch your favorite acts or take in a film. Which brings us to our first event profile. Let’s dive in!

Sundance Film Festival

Sundance, the premiere film festival that takes place each year in Park City, UT, is opening its doors in more ways than one. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, event planners will be streaming screenings across the internet as well as hosting the films in their regular venues. This is great news for those of us unable or unwilling to travel right now!

If you’ve never had the opportunity to experience Sundance, with its exclusive film screenings, film shorts, star-studded panel discussions, and Q&A events, this could be your year. You can purchase tickets for screenings and other events, both in-person and streaming, right now from the Sundance website.

In-person screenings will be limited to 25% capacity due to the pandemic, so tickets are likely to sell out fast. If you’re someone that craves the full Sundance experience, don’t delay. The rest of us can purchase single event tickets, day passes, or full festival passes that give you access to whatever your cinephile heart could desire.

Unfortunately, there’s a little less to love this year. Organizers are having to truncate the festival’s normal 11-day schedule, and so you’ll only be able to catch films between January 28th and February 3rd. But you’ll have so many more opportunities to watch! Along with their Park City screenings, organizers will be running limited in-person screenings in other cities around the country. Check their in-person information page to learn if there are any near you. If not, you can enjoy the bulk of this year’s films online.

With the website, you can register, peruse the full catalog of films and events, create a schedule, purchase tickets, and eventually watch your screenings. It’s the full Sundance experience right in your living room.

But if you can make it in person, either this year or at some point in the future, you should. Sundance is a non-stop cavalcade of movies, celebrities, events, and parties, where great food and even greater films find a home each year. Want to learn more?
