The E3 Convention, which is short for Electronic Entertainment Expo, is an annual trade event that takes place in June for those in the video game industry. This event has publishers, hardware and accessory manufacturers, and developers to introduce and promote their upcoming game as well as any merch. The first event took place in 1995, however this event was an invite-only event that only the press and industry members could attend.
It wasn’t until the 2017 event that this annual convention allowed the public to attend this event. This allowed 15,000 members of the public attend this event, which is considered to be the most important and impactful gaming expo. E3 has taken place every year since its inception, except for the 2020 expo which was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The event is expected to return to Los Angeles and will start on June 15th and end on the 17th. Tickets generally go on sale several months prior to the event, often the February prior to the event. Tickets can be purchased on the official E3 Expo website. In 2020, the tickets went for $165 per day or $995 for a weekend pass. This is the largest event of its kind, which makes it difficult to get tickets for the event.
