Austin Food and Wine Festival

Event Info

The Austin Food & Wine Festival held its first event in 2012 in Austin, Texas. The predecessor to this festival was the Texas Hill Country Food & Wine Festival, which was held until 2011. The Texas Hill Country Food & Wine Festival took place in Austin for 26 years before it made its transition into the Austin Food & Wine Festival. This festival benefits the Austin Food & Wine Alliance, a nonprofit organization. This nonprofit awards 3 grants that total $20,000 to people in Central Texas who are in this industry and meet the criteria for their grants.

During the inaugural event in 2012, major names were brought in to headline this event. Some of the headliners of this first event included celebrity chefs including Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Gail Simmons, and Marcus Samuelsson. There were also music events headlined by Mayer Hawthorne and Lucinda Williams. This festival had 35 cooking demonstrations as well as wine and cocktail seminars for attendees to enjoy.

The 2021 Austin Food & Wine Festival is set to take place from November 5th to November 7th. You can buy tickets for this event online from the official website of this event. The organizers hope that this event can still go on so that they can support the restaurant industry that has been impacted by the pandemic.
